Two Point Museum will let you dig up and monetize history – Destructoid
Sega and Two Point Studios have announced the next game in the extended Two Point universe: Two Point Museum. The follow-up to Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but no release window has been announced.
This is the kind of game where the name explains things pretty well. Two Point Museum is a managerial game where you run a museum. You need to send your staff out on expeditions, gather up all sorts of historical oddities, then arrange them in a way that will convince people to empty their pockets.
New to the series is children. As it turns out, the people of Two Point County aren’t just born as adults, but then there wasn’t a maternity ward in Two Point Hospital, so how could we be sure? The inclusion of youth gives you the added challenges of keeping them off of exhibits and dealing with school field trips showing up at your door.
I got a hands-on preview in advance of this announcement, which should be going up here at the same time as this post. I found it to be more in line with a tycoon game than previous Two Point games, without sacrificing what makes the series special.
As an unreasonably enthusiastic fan of the series, I’m always wondering what’s coming next. While museum definitely wasn’t high on my list of wishes, it’s a good fit. For one thing, the series seems to focus on making a profit from institutions where profit shouldn’t be the goal. However, I still dream of a spiritual successor to The Movies (which studio head Mark Webley and some other staff worked on while at Lionhead) or something similar. Heck, I’d even love to see something completely out of the studios’ wheelhouse like “Two Point Kart” or “Two Point SWAT.” A girl can dream, but right now, I’m happy with anything.
